SYDNEY will become food truck central when more than 30 vendors converge at the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park over the October long weekend.

Drool-worthy meals on wheels including pizza from Happy as Larry and the now infamous Tella Ball milkshake from Foodcraft Espresso will be part of the first EQ Food Truck Jam.

Happy as Larry’s Chris Lu said the jam was a sign that food trucks were more than just a fad.

“Food trucks used to cater for big events like the football and concerts, but now we have got a shift where the food is of the highest quality and people are seeking us out,” he said.

“As long as we keep putting real chefs and real passion behind the wheel, then the sky is the limit.”

Ameer El-Issa, head baker and creative director of the Bearded Bakers, who own the Knafeh food truck, agreed and said people were tired of the fine dining scene.
