Jaclyn Hersh writes about what sounds like a pretty cool mashup of the street food craze and municipal governance. As odd as that mix sounds – the two have often been in conflict of late – the idea that sprung from The Bloomberg Mayors Challenge sounds to us like a recipe for success. As Hersh explains, with “City Hall To Go”, “[a] menu of seasonal services are now rolling to locations throughout the city to serve residents less able to travel to the actual city hall or navigate their website. Citizens can also report complaints at the truck.” Services available through the truck may include registering to vote, signing up for a library card, or obtaining a dog license, says Hersh.
