The 2015 Stars in the Park concert series will come to an end at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at Heritage Park with a season finale party highlighted by the sounds of L’USA.
Area food truck vendors Mac Shack and Kona Ice also join the party and will serve up delicious dinner and treats to concert goers.
“I hope people take advantage of the food trucks and really make a night of it,” said Kyle Kubitskey, Cultural Arts Assistant.
For the past decade, L’USA has held the distinction of being one of the most entertaining, professional bands in metro Detroit, known for their chemistry, hard work, and dedication to developing their craft. From classic Motown to modern pop, L’USA’s musical repertoire will keep everyone dancing and smiling.
Mac Shack and Kona Ice will serve concert goers starting at 6 p.m. Mac Shack is a Detroit-based food truck specializing in creative Mac ‘n Cheese & French Fries. Launched in May of 2012 at Eastern Market Flower day, Mac Shack uses fresh, high quality ingredients in all of their recipes to produce “the ultimate street food experience.” To check out their menu and prices in advance, visitwww.macshackmichigan.com.
Carrying over 30 flavors on the truck, Kona Ice serves what looks like “a cup of snow.” Patrons get to take part in the fun themselves by flavoring their own cup of shaved ice with the Do-It-Yourself Flavorwave as a great treat to enjoy before and during the final concert.
The Stars in the Park Concert Series is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and is held in the lawn area of the Heritage Park Amphitheater. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic dinner if desired. Heritage Park is located at 24915 Farmington Road, between Ten and Eleven Mile Roads in Farmington Hills. Please note – no alcohol or pets are allowed in the park. The rainout site is the Costick Center, 28600 W. Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills. For more information, call the Cultural Arts Division at 248-473-1848.
This will also be the last chance to win a Mercedes-Benz driving experience from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. Attendees who are 21 years or older with a valid U.S. driver’s license may enter the random drawing raffle by visiting the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services vehicle display at Heritage Park during the concert. One entry per person may be submitted at the concert. The winner will be awarded the use of a Mercedes-Benz E350 for one week. The winner need not be present at the time of the drawing to win.
