FORT WORTH – Fort Worth is expected to vote on a new ordinance Tuesday covering the rapidly growing food truck market.
Among other things, the City Council will decide whether to require permanent bathrooms and on-site managers for food parks. Â Fort Worth’s third food truck park, the Clearfork Food Park, is about to open on the banks of the Trinity near I-30 and University Drive.
Developer Kendall Carew says his manager will check logs daily to insure vendors follow regulations on cleaning and grease disposal.
A News 8 investigation in November found little uniformity in how and where Fort Worth food trucks were cleaned. One vendor appeared to bathe and sleep in a food truck.
City officials say most regulations in the new ordinance were already on the books in some fashion. Putting them all together should make the permitting process clearer in the future.
