Screen on the Green

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets for a screening of the G-rated “Wall-E” on the wide lawn of Discovery Green.

Let’s monkey around

Learn about the creators of “Curious George” during an arts-and-crafts playtime and story hour at the Holocaust Museum of Houston. The event is recommended for children ages 3-10 and is being presented in conjunction with the exhibit “The Wartime Escape: Margaret and H.A. Rey’s Journey From France.”

When: 2-4 p.m. Saturday

West Houston Food Truck Festival

Nine of Houston’s finest mobile kitchens, including Tila’s, Coreanos and Koagie Hots, will be feeding festivalgoers at this tasty event at Temple Sinai. In addition to the trucks, there will be live music, kids’ activities and craft beer from Katy’s No Label Brewing. Proceeds will benefit the Houston Food Bank.

When: noon-4 p.m. Sunday

Arboretum at Night

It’s a “Pink” Full Moon Part at the Houston Arboretum. Limited to ages 9 and older, the event invites participants on a starry quarter-mile walk to the meadow where telescopes will provide amazing views of the night sky. Refreshments will be served and members of the Houston Astronomical Society will be available for questions.

When: 8:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday

Disney on Ice

See a winter wonderland with an ice-skating Mickey Mouse, a royal ball with the Disney princesses and a villain-fueled Halloween haunt during Disney on Ice’s “Let’s Celebrate” at NRG Stadium (formerly Reliant Stadium).
