Indianapolis, IN: Food Trucks, Chefs in Showdown in Super Bowl Warm-Up

Check out some of the city’s best street food Friday at the Super Street Food Showdown, a 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee event presented in conjunction with the Indianapolis City Market.

More than a dozen food trucks will line the street outside the City Market, 222 Market St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ballots will be available for the public to vote for their favorite truck.

Inside the City Market, local chefs will be competing with their own versions of street food.

Judging for the chef competition begins at 11:30 a.m. at the demo kitchen inside the City Market.

Food trucks will include Byrne’s Pizza; Edward’s Dashboard Diner; Fat Sammies; Floribbean Flair; Mabel on the Move; Scout’s Treats; Scratch Truck; Slider Station; Some of This, Some of That; Tacos Without Borders; The NY Slice; and West Coast Tacos.

Participating chefs include Greg Hardesty of Recess; Regina Mehallick of R Bistro, Sam Brown of Second Helpings, Art Bouvier of Papa Roux, Roger Hawkins of Circle City Soups and George Neely of Culinary Innovations.
