KENNEWICK, Wash. – Do you like food trucks… and the fair? Well, a brand new event at the Benton-Franklin Fair brought those two together.
The Food Truck Fare brought in six local food trucks for a few hours on Thursday. People then got to vote which is their favorite. The winner gets to claim a spot on ‘food row’ next summer at the fair.
The owners of Snowie, a do-it-yourself sort of shaved ice truck, told us why that’s such a great prize.
“It would be really, really awesome. Phenomenal. We put in for every fair in Washington state this year and the only one we got was Chelan. Which you know how bad it is in Chelan right now. But we’re still going,” said Theresa and Randy Michelle.
They are in luck. They’ll get a shot at the Benton-Franklin Fair next year because they earned the most votes on Thursday.
Also, half of all the proceeds from the Food Truck Fare goes to the Tough Enough to Wear Pink cancer fund.
