MADISON, Conn. (WTNH) — The controversy over food trucks in Madison has all lead up to this Friday’s Food Truck Appreciation Day event.
This Friday, Food Truck Appreciation Day is where folks will gather to enjoy local foods and businesses all in one place, but there has been a battle over the location in Madison. About 20 protesters are against having the food trucks in a residential area, such as School Street.
City officials relocated the trucks, but the lack of visibility hurt their businesses. A town survey showed over 87% of residents like having the trucks on School Street, so officials moved them back.
The turnout at today’s Food Truck Appreciation Day will really determine the support for the fate of food trucks in Madison. It all starts at 10:00 am on School Street.
