Beats and eats are on the menu at a new series of ‘food raves’ coming to Manchester.

Friday Food Fight will bring together top restaurants, street food vendors and club nights at a secret city centre location described only as ‘an incredible industrial hall’.

Just a few tantalising tidbits of information have been released so far through cryptic posts on Twitter.

Mexican street food restaurant Lucha Libre, wood-fired pizza maker Honest Crust and gourmet hotdog vendor Diamond Dogs have been revealed as the first official food partners of the event.

And the first club partners have been announced as Drop the Mustard, a Manchester-based DJ collective playing disco and house music.

The project, which takes place over 12 Fridays from March 7, is also nurturing new talent through a start-up incubator project.

Budding chefs were invited to pitch their ideas for a chance to enter a cook-off, with the winners earning a place at one of the events.

In a Facebook post, organisers B.Eat Street said: “We’ve confirmed a whole load of unique foodie start ups for the Friday Food Fight event series. We’re positive you’ll love them too.”
