Whistle Stop Food Truck Rodeo at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum

Some of Miami’s most popular food trucks will be tooting their horns at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum this Saturday. The museum, dedicated to preserving the history of trains in Florida, will be hosting an event featuring mobile meals and free admission February 5. Not only will the food trucks serve sustenance for those of every size, but the whole family can learn about trains and take a ride on an actual locomotive.

The Whistle Stop Food Truck Rodeo is being organized by Jefe’s Original Fish Taco and Burgers’ owner Jack Garabedian who told Short Order, “I think it’s going to be one of the best food truck events.” He noted that the museum is an incredible and underutilized location, that he is pleased with the arrangement, and said that the Gold Coast Railroad is “really willing to work with us.”
After you grab your tasty treats, you can picnic on the grass or eat in an original dining car from the 1940s. There will be plenty of time to check out railroad themed displays, and a ride on the Edwin Link Children’s Railroad is only 20 minutes long, good for the young and hyperactive. The kids’ll be able to experience what life was like before airplanes and cars, or even before food trucks, if you can imagine.
The The Whistle Stop Food Truck Rodeo will take place on Feb. 5th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 12450 SW 152 Street, Miami, next to the Metro Zoo. Admission is free, as is parking.
