One of Omaha’s oldest old-school steakhouses is taking a turn for the decidedly modern: Piccolo Pete’s is starting a food truck.
Scott Sheehan will run Anthony Piccolo’s Mobile Venue. Sheehan is Tony Piccolo’s youngest grandson and his mother, Donna Sheehan, and aunt Dee Graves run the brick and mortar restaurant.

The truck will launch on Aug. 10 as part of Piccolo Pete’s 80th anniversary party. Sheehan said the truck will share some recipes with the restaurant, and the menu will feature Piccolo’s pasta and sauce, meatballs and steak. The truck will also have Italian steak sandwiches, meatball sandwiches and a grilled beef and cheese sandwich, he said.
Diners will be able to download an app on Android and Apple phones to locate the truck, and Sheehan said they will also be able to place their order and pay before they arrive at the truck.
