A species heretofore unseen in these parts has recently been introduced to the downtown Silver Spring ecosystem: the so-called 'gourmet' food truck (truckus hipsterus).
It’s the latest food trend sweeping the nation and it’s picking up momentum right here in the Midlands, as many chefs and cooks forgo opening up expensive restaurants in favor of a more mobile way to serve food.
Baltimore doesn't contain a large enough fleet to have such problems. But the city may be catching up. At least four new food trucks hit the streets in the past year.
