What’s more fun? Working as a software development engineer or making banana Nutella crepes for the masses?

Matthew Lo, who is about to open a new food truck that specializes in crepes, said the decision was easy for him.

Lo, who quit his longtime job as a software engineer two months ago, is calling his business Lo Lo’s Crepes. He plans to open for the first time on June 7 at the ICT Pop-Up Urban Park.

His menu will focus on French/Japanese-style crepes, both sweet and savory, and customers can decide what they want inside. His sweet choices include Nutella, chocolate, strawberries, bananas and ice cream. Savory crepes can be filled with ham, cheddar cheese, egg, spinach and bacon.

Lo, who grew up in Hong Kong, said he learned to eat crepes there and has always loved them. He’s been discouraged that he can’t find a good crepe in Wichita.

“Crepes are very popular everywhere,” he said. “It doesn’t matter where you go.”

Lo said he’ll be serving every Tuesday in June at the ICT Pop-Up Urban Park. Every Wednesday, he’ll be at Wichita State University’s new food truck park. He’ll also start attending food truck rallies around town, he said.
