Because the first-ever Inland Empire Food Truck Fest in June was such a big success, a similar event is being planned in October at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.

Officials announced that the IE Food Truck and Brew Fest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8 and will feature gourmet mobile eateries and local breweries.

“The huge turn out of more than 11,000 people that attended the first-ever IE Food Truck Fest at Citizens Business Bank Arena last June was an indication that the food truck fans of the IE wanted more,” said Steve Eckerson, general manager of the arena. “We started planning the sequel event right away, with a new twist and highlighting the upcoming Ontario Reign hockey season.”

Spotlighting the gourmet food truck movement that has exploded over this past year, the festival is celebrating this new style of street food.

“The IE Food Truck and Brew Fest will showcase the delectable cuisine that has rolled out on our SoCal streets in Los Angeles and Orange counties,” said Eckerson. “With a diverse mix of 50 gourmet food trucks gathered at Citizens Business Bank Arena, the community can experience several epicurean delights and taste some of the local breweries’ specialties, all at one location.”

The event will also include a hockey demo provided by the Ontario Reign and Los Angeles Kings, live local music and DJs, activities for children, and giveaways.

The one-day event is expected to bring an attendance of 10,000 to 14,000 people, officials said. The audience will range from families and food enthusiasts to 20-somethings and social media advocates. The gourmet food truck trend took off by word-of-mouth via Twitter.

Tickets for the Oct. 8 event will go on sale on Aug. 13 at 10 a.m.

Ticket prices are $25 for the VIP experience (which allows for early entrance); general admission is $10, and advance tickets are available for $8. Tickets may be purchased at www.Ticketmaster.com (a convenience fee will apply) or at www.cbbankarena.com.
