The Inland Empire Auto Show is expanding its vehicle lineup this year to include gourmet food trucks.
Organizers announced today that a dozen mobile food vendors are scheduled to be on site during the event, scheduled for Aug. 19-21 at the Ontario Convention Center. It’s a first for the auto show, and a chance for Inland Empire eaters to sample the wares of the food-truck trend.
General Motors, Toyota and Chrysler each will give out vouchers for free food-truck meals to the first 100 people who test-drive their vehicles. All three are offering Ride-and-Drive programs as part of the show, which also includes a kid zone, a Great Taste Friday with food from Inland restaurants, and a PGA-sponsored “Get Out and Golf” night Aug. 20 that will give participants a chance to practice their swings and get tips from golf pros at a driving range and putting green inside the convention center.
The names of the food trucks scheduled to attend give you a pretty good idea of what type of food will be in store. They are: KO Taco Truck; Bacon Mania; The Greasy Wiener; Fresh Fries; Aunties Fry Bread; Tropical Shave Ice; Shrimp Pimp; Great Balls on Tires; Slice Truck; Chomp Chomp Truck; India Jones Truck; and Piaggio On Wheels.
