90 Miles To Go serves Cuban soul food with a message.

In Key West there’s a famous landmark that stands at the southernmost point in the continental United States. The marker reads, “90 miles to Cuba.” The message rings loud and clear: So close, yet for all intents and purposes, Cuba might as well be a million miles away.

90 Miles, the new food truck that made its debut at the soggy Gulfstream Park food roundup, stays true to Cuban flavors. The bilingual menu reads like your favorite neighborhood Cuban café — except this time the café comes to you.

Starters include the “90 Mile appetizer”: tamales con masitas de puerco (tamales with pork chunks and empanadas in ground beef, chicken, shrimp, or lobster). Yes, lobster from a food truck.

Tostones are done in a variety of ways, with a choice of starch (plantain, boniato, or yuca) and protein (ground beef, chicken, shrimp, or lobster).

Sammies include the “90 Mile sandwich” — a Cuban sandwich with steak — pulled pork, classic Cuban, steak, chicken, and midnight.

Instead of fries, 90 Miles offers “freedom fritters” in a choice of cod, conch, malanga, salted corn, or sweet corn.  All menu items are under $10 and made fresh daily.
