Chow down and drink up at the Great New Mexico Food Truck & Beer Festival, which makes its debut Saturday in Albuquerque.
The event is presented by Food Truck Festivals of America and Samuel Adams Beer. It will feature 20 gourmet food trucks from the area, which will be serving up a variety of edibles.
Offerings include wood-fired pizza from Adoughbe Pizza; apple-smoked brisket and wood-grilled turkey from Artisan Valley Smokehouse; a New Mexican Green Chili Bacon Cheese Doughnut Burger from Basil’s Home Cooking; pulled pork and chicken sandwiches from Gedunk Food Truck; gourmet hot dogs and New Mexico favorites by Mama Bee’s Cuisine and Catering as well as lobster tacos, Korean barbecue and Vietnamese melts from Street Food Institute, according to a Food Truck Festivals of America news release.
Wash it all down with Sam Adams specialties such as Thirteenth Hour, which uses 13 ingredients including seven specialty malts. It combines roasted chocolate and coffee flavors with the spicy character of a Belgian ale aged in oak, according to tasting notes provided by Food Truck Festivals of America.
Harvest Saison uses Belgian yeast to create complex flavors ranging from herbal to floral to spicy clove notes.
Crystal Pale Ale contains a citrus, floral flavor accented by the subtle earthiness of United Kingdom hops and balanced by a deep yet subtle malt sweetness with notes of toffee.
Double Bock is a bold malt with rich caramel sweetness. Its smooth body is balanced by the subtle citrus of German Noble hops. Verloren is a gose-style beer with a soft and creamy taste, which is brought to life by the peppery spice of coriander.
Samuel Adams staples Boston Lager, Summer Ale and Rebel IPA also will be on hand.
Angry Orchard Hard Cider will be available to those seeking an alternative to beer.
A handful of New Mexico breweries will round out the craft beer assortment.
Abbey Brewing Company will be serving up its Monks’ Tripel. De La Vega’s Pecan Grill & Brewery will have its Pecan Amber Ale available.
Rio Grande & Sierra Blanca Brewing Co. will offer Rio Grande Pilsner and Sierra Blanca Bone Chiller.
