Charlotte: Popular Uptown Food Truck Stolen

By Meghan Cooke | CharlotteObserver.com

If you’re working in Charlotte’s uptown this week, you might notice something missing on your lunch break.

The Harvest Moon Grille’s food truck – known for toting locally-grown, fresh food around uptown – was stolen this weekend, according to the restaurant’s owners.

The bright orange food truck has acquired a following along Tryon Street, in South End and at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market.

“Bummer,” wrote one fan on Twitter as news of the theft spread.

“WHAAAAT?” wrote another.

Cassie Parsons, co-owner of the restaurant on North Tryon Street, said she believes the truck was stolen late Friday or early Saturday. Someone went to pick up the truck Saturday morning to head to a local farmers market when he discovered it missing from its parking spot on Distribution Street, just south of uptown

“It’s so orange, you can’t miss it,” Parsons said. “How can somebody steal something so obvious?”

Parsons and the truck’s fans urged anyone with information about the theft to call police.

“It’s sad, but we’ll get back on the street as soon as possible,” Parsons said.
