A popular addition to last year’s PGA golf tournament held in La Quinta is making a return to the CareerBuilder Challenge — known last year as the Humana Challenge.
A slew of food trucks that serve everything from lobster rolls and pizza to a grilled goat cheese sandwich will ride into the TPC Stadium Course at PGA West from Wednesday through Jan. 24 to feed hungry golf guests.
“It’s a no-brainer to bring Food Truck Frenzy back into Bob Hope Square for this year’s event,” said CareerBuilder Challenge tournament director Bill Tait in a prepared statement.
“There is a large following for food trucks across Southern California, so why not dig into the variety of amazing, unique cuisine that our trucks in Bob Hope Square offer fans while they watch many of the PGA TOUR’s best golfers put on a show inside the ropes.”
Cousins Maine Lobster, which appeared on ABC’s “Shark Tank” and has a country-wide following, is among 12 trucks expected at the tournament.
