Question: What is your story?
Answer: Our names are Ryan Cohee and Rachel Pickerill. We are owners and operators of Redtop Gourmet Hotdogs. We opened our truck last summer.
Q: What food do you serve?
A: We serve high-quality local grass-fed beef hotdogs with a variety of toppings. We also have local sausages that we rotate throughout the season.
Q: How do people find you?
A: I roam all over the Louisville area. I am usually found at local festivals and events. We can be found on Facebook. We also have a website and can be contacted easily via email or phone.
Q: What are the biggest rewards of serving food from a truck?
A: The freedom for creating new and interesting dishes and serving a community that I love!
Q: What’s your beef?
A: Being new to the business, I dislike the uncertainties that come with new events. I am learning better management of product and what to expect, but it took a little time.
Q: Which food truck inspires you?
A: I admire Jam Pan Mobile Jerk Centre (a recently closed food truck). Their love for great food was evident in his excellent product.
Q: How can Louisville grow its food truck culture?
A: Allowing food trucks on Fourth Street and making it easier for food trucks to do events. Support a growing local business!
Q: What is your mission?
A: I take pride in providing quality products that I try to find locally. I use as many natural and organic products as I can. Yes, I serve hotdogs, but I want to serve a quality product that you don’t feel bad for eating. I truly take pride in this business. I am proud of the city that I live in and the consumers that are willing to try something new and interesting. I will always keep these things in mind when making decisions for my food truck.
