The police are seeking an armed man who is wanted for robbing eight food-cart vendors in Queens since the beginning of the month. The robbery spree escalated in Elmhurst early Saturday, when the man robbed three food-cart vendors and a livery cab driver in a span of just a few minutes around 3:30 a.m., the police said.

On Wednesday, the police released surveillance footage believed to show the robber – a man the authorities described as between the ages of 20 and 25 – walking down a street, dressed in a winter hat with ear flaps. The robberies all occurred between midnight and 5 a.m.; in each, the robber displayed a gun, the police said. On average, he made about $150 from each robbery, a law enforcement official said.
