Ever see a dog’s face when there is too much going on? Too many smells, for example? I imagine that would be my look if I were at one of those food truck rodeos. I’ve never been to one, but I think that’s going to change come May 17.
That Sunday, The Village Grill will host the Star City Truck Stop, with 10 vendors and their accompanying smells wafting about the parking lot, confusing dogs and [some] people.
The event, which kicks off at 1 p.m., will feature the following food trucks — Bruno’s Gastro Truck, Thai This, Noke Truck, Toasted By Casey, Baum’s BBQ, Rock & Roll Diner, The Lick BBQ, Hot Stones Pizza, Oi Polloi, Appalachia Frucking Delicious and Viva La Cupcake.
Bonus: The grill got an ABC permit so you can drink in the parking lot, according to event organizer John Park. Robotic Jive will be playing music there as well.
At this point, I’ve had food from a few of these. Bruno’s, Rock & Roll Diner, Noke Truck, Toasted By Casey, Hot Stones and Oi Polloi. All very good, I have to say, with Casey’s toasted pimiento cheese making the most recent good impression.
But what to do when they’re all around me? I’m not getting rich over here! Suggestions?
Regional food truck game is up. Here’s the facebook event.
