Anybody who’s been keeping an eye on food news around Roanoke and the New River Valley has probably noticed that several food trucks have opened for business over the past year or two. It’s an exciting trend and I’m thrilled to see it growing here in Southwest Virginia.
What better way to sample these trucks than to find them all parked in the same place at the same time? That’s what will happen on September 27 in downtown Christiansburg, where Downtown Christiansburg, Inc. is holding a Food Truck Rodeo. Yee haw!
These are the trucks that are taking part in the rodeo: Bruno’s Gastro Truck, Rock ‘n Roll Diner, Homestead Creamery, The Cellar Truck, The ‘Noke Truck, Toasted by Casey, and Benjamin’s Franks. There will also be beer and wine available from Parkway Brewing Co. and Beliveau Estate Winery.
In addition, the event will have live music, a 50/50 raffle, and some cool cars to ogle courtesy of the NRV Classic Cruisers.
