SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A coalition of Bay Area food trucks known as “Off The Grid” is joining together to help Typhoon victims get back on their feet.
On Tuesday, November 19th the trucks will set up from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. at Serramonte Center in Daly City. According to Evan Kidera, owner of the popular Señor Sisig truck, 12 vendors will be serving up food and donating 5% of their sales to Typhoon relief.
Additionally, Kidera says Off The Grid LLC will be matching an additional 5%, meaning 10% of total sales will be donated to the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns. NAFCON works with organizations in the Philipines to send aid throughout the affected region, including the communities of Leyte, Tacloban, Cebu, Bicol, Northern Samar, and Ormoc.
Members of the Calamity Relief Taskforce will also solicit donations, pass out information on the relief efforts and solicit sign ups for those interested in volunteering in other upcoming relief activities, according to Kidera.
If you want to help you can also call in to our donation drive or make your donation online at redcross.org.
