A mobile food court will pop up at three Tacoma locations Friday-Sunday. It’s part of a pilot project with T-Town Food Trucks and the city of Tacoma.
Five food trucks will set up at 6 a.m. Friday on Market Street, between South Ninth and 11th streets, and will serve until 2 p.m. Trucks also will serve Saturday and Sunday at two Ruston locations (see info below).

The food truck meetups will be hosted every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July at four city-owned locations in downtown Tacoma and along Ruston Way. The lineup will change throughout the season. Participating trucks must be licensed through the city and hold an annual permit from the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
This will be Tacoma’s first food truck gathering with a regular schedule. In the past, such events have been held as one-day festivals in Cheney Stadium and Wright Park.
Here’s a look at this weekend’s schedule and the trucks serving Friday-Sunday:
FRIDAY (MAY 1): Arnold’s Happy Days (6 a.m.-2 p.m.); Da Van That Knows the Man (10 a.m.-2 p.m.); Gibson’s Yogurt (10 a.m.-2 p.m.); Viet Nom Nom (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) and Kerry’s Caribbean (10 a.m.-2 p.m.). Market Street in downtown Tacoma between South Ninth and 11th streets.
SATURDAY: Arnold’s Happy Days (3-8 p.m.); Gibson’s Yogurt (3-8 p.m.); Da Van That Knows The Man (10 a.m.-3 p.m.). Near Cummings Park on Ruston Way.
SUNDAY: Arnold’s Happy Days (7 a.m.-3 p.m.), Da Van That Knows The Man (3-8 p.m.). Near the Silver Cloud Inn on Ruston Way.
(NOTE: If Budha Bear’s license comes through by Friday, find the truck from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and 3-8 p.m. Sunday.)

Da Van That Knows The Man: The name is an homage to “The Man,” the regionally famous spicy hot barbecue sauce served at restaurants owned by the Porter family, who Da-Van owner Terry Hayes previously worked with. facebook.com/pages/Da-Van-That-Know-THE-MAN.
Budha Bear Bagels: This Puyallup-based truck is from Kat and David Chavis. They started serving in 2013 at the University of Washington Tacoma and have since operated at festivals and special events. Find bagel sandwiches and other a la carte items.facebook.com/BudhaBearBagelsCafe.
