The foods trucks return to downtown Tampa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today with two new options for lunchtime diners:
- Destination Grill, from St. Petersburg, will have barbecue sandwiches, pork pitas, smoked chicken and shrimp and grits. John Myers, the owner, says his best seller is the macaroni and cheese, which includes four kinds of cheese and bacon, which then spends time in the smoker.
- Nate Paul’s Q4U, which specializes in barbecue pork, ribs and chicken. Nathan Williams, the owner said his truck will have pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked sausage, macaroni and cheese, beans and cole slaw. He said the specialty of the truck is the pulled pork that is made from a bone-in butt, smoked in oak and apple wood for 8 to 12 hours, and rubbed with his own mix.
Other food trucks scheduled to be serving today are NYO Food Truck, Keep’n It Reel, Cuppin Cake, Graffeaties, Pictureman Catering, Michelle Faedo, Killer Samich and Taste of Chicago.
The rally is scheduled to be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lykes Gaslight Square Park, on Franklin Street between Madison Street and Kennedy Boulevard.
Mayor Buckhorn’s Food Truck Fiesta started, in conjunction with the Tampa Downtown Partnership, in November 2011.
