A new food truck is bringing the flavors of Vietnam to the Pima Community College downtown campus area.

Nhu Lan Vietnamese Food Truck, which is moving to Speedway and Main Avenue from its previous spot on Stone, serves a sizable menu with bun vermicelli noodles, sprouted rice dishes and bowls of beef pho. Ho Chi Minh City-native Nghia Tran, along with his neighbor Heno Quiroz, also prepare a Chinese menu with staples like orange and sesame chicken.

But the truck’s real draw is the fresh banh mi sandwiches made with bread from the La Baguette Parisienne off Pantano Road. The combination banh mi was a steal at $3, stuffed with an array of fresh vegetables and herbs, as well as three different types of pork.

The truck is turning out to be a popular lunch spot for students, despite it being cash only. Nhu Lan’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Keep up with future hours and locations by searching “Nhu Lan” on Facebook.
