Got plans for lunch Thursday? If not, you should head down to Worcester Common where three local food trucks will have varied menus to offer downtown diners.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Dogfather, Say Cheese and Press’n It will roll onto the common behind City Hall.

Mark Gallant of The Dogfather says the hope is to grow this into a weekly lunch event to provide support for the current local food trucks and help the food truck industry grow in the city.

“Our goal here is a partnership between the good citizens of Worcester and local food trucks. With your help, we hope to expand to as many trucks and hours as you will support,” Gallant said on Facebook.

Gallant went on to say he believes a weekly food truck lunch on the Common could benefit all the downtown businesses, as well.

The Dogfather will be offering their hot dogs, including plenty of different topping varieties.

Say Cheese will offer its gourmet grilled cheeses, with cheese varieties including fresh mozzarella, cheddar, muenster, goat and bleu cheese. Hot soups, like a tomato and carrot bisque, are also on the menu.

Press’n It, a new food truck out of Millbury, will serve up a menu of panini. The owner, Matthew Murray, will be offering his favorite seared chicken with hot house tomato, baby arugula and smoke gouda cheese served hot on local sourdough bread with garlic aioli and sriracha peppadew sauce.

More information on the food truck event can be found on Facebook here.
