This week there’s an outdoor dinner and a movie planned in Athens.

The Athens Food Truck Market, a collection of local food trucks, will extend past its usual food offerings and also show a movie Wednesday night.

The food truck market serves dinner in Athens every other Wednesday night from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Jittery Joe’s Roaster on Barber Street.

The series of summer food truck nights begins this week and ends the last week of July.

This week the food truck meal will be followed by a movie screening.

The movie pick is the 1993 classic The Sandlot, which tells the coming of age story of a group of boys who bond through baseball.

Guests are invited to bring a blanket and have a picnic while watching the movie, which begins at 8:45 p.m.

The trucks serving up food at the event are Taza Foods, Da Munchiezz, Kona Ice and Holy Crepe.

Taza Foods, which was started by two University of Georgia students, serves Mediterranean food with fresh ingredients, including a falafel sandwich.

Da Munchiezz, which was founded in Orlando, Fla., serves barbecue, macaroni and cheese, and jerk chicken among other things.

Athens-based Kona Ice serves shaved ice in many flavors.

Longtime Athens business Holy Crepe will also be there selling French-style pancakes stuffed with sweet and savory fillings.

Also, Rolling Runway will be at the event for anyone who wants to do a little shopping in the meantime.

Rolling Runway sells women’s clothing, jewelry and gifts.

Anyone who arrives early can grab a fresh-poured coffee from the roaster. Jittery Joe’s will serve pour-over coffee at a tasting from 5 to 6 p.m.
