BETHEL — The town will now allow food trucks in Meckauer Park during part of the year.

Under a recently approved ordinance, mobile food vendors will be permitted in the Shelter Rock Road park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May through October, according to a release. Vendors will need to pay a monthly fee of $200 per truck. The fee does not include the cost of a food license.

Applications are available in the Parks and Recreation Department and on the town’s website and must be received by March 2. Approved vendors will be notified by April 2.

Vendors must be a registered Bethel food truck, meet local and state health requirements, have a food vending license and driver’s license, and offer waste receptacles. Vendors will be given no more than two parking spots and will not be permitted to use loud speakers. Trucks will also need to follow park rules.
