We’ll start Monday off with spicy news, since most of us probably need it: Boston will soon be home to a food truck bearing some of the most delicious, heapingly authentic tortas we’ve ever tried. The proprietor? Tenoch’s industrious Alvaro Sandoval. He e-mailed us over the weekend (in betweenanniversary celebrations for his Medford restaurant) with details. This is almostbetter than coffee, right?
Tenoch Mobile should open in late spring or early summer, says Sandoval, with a tortas-only menu. Look for ’em at SoWa (he’s secured two dates already); also expect him to find a permanent home for lunch Monday through Friday. Right now we favor his torta choriqueso: Telera bread, melted Oaxaca cheese with chorizo, chipotle mayo (essential), beans, onions, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes.
Meanwhile, plans for his sit-down North End location are in the works: He’s waiting for take-out approval but already has an OK for eat-in. He says that the menu will be a lot like the one in Medford, with enchiladas, tamales, tacos, and of course tortas.
