Truck-court return

The Food Truck Food Court will kick off on Thursday at Columbus Commons, S. High and E. Rich streets, and continue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 29 (except Sept. 17).

Ten trucks will take part weekly, with 10 others joining the lineup on a rotating basis throughout the summer.

This month, Ohio egg farmers are partnering with 10 of the trucks to celebrate National Egg Month.

Participating trucks will compete weekly with egg-inspired menu items. The winner will get $500 and have its menu items featured atwww.ohiopoultry.org

Fried-chicken competition

The Columbus food trucks the Queens Table and the Rolling Kitchen, and the Zanesville eatery the Modern Southern Table will compete in a “Fried Chicken Throwdown” before an audience from 6 to 8 p.m. May 14 at the Food Fort at the Economic & Community Development Institute, 737 Parkwood Ave.

The cost is $20, including food samples, refreshments, live music, arcade games and the opportunity to vote for the winner. Register by Sunday at www.ecdi.org/events/142, or call 614-559-0115.
