A new food truck is hitting Detroit streets Thursday and the first 50 people to visit it will receive a free bowl of pasta.
The Andiamo Restaurant Group’s big purple vehicle will open at 11 a.m. at the corner of Brush and Monroe, across from the Old Shillelagh and Fishbones, and will serve until 2 p.m. that day.
The rotating menu, which will include $3 pasta bowls, will offer items such as calamari and sausage and peppers from Andiamo’s traditional menu. And will also feature dishes with street-food flair, such as meatball subs, panini and mozzarella bottone — crispy fried mozzarella cubes in tomato-bacon-olive sauce.
Andiamo founder and CEO Joe Vicari said the truck lets the company take its passion for food on the road and into communities.
“The food truck movement is a relevant and natural next endeavor for us to reach new and younger customers in a fun and exciting way,” he said.
The truck debuted at the Detroit Grand Prix and will operate around the region this summer at events including festivals and food-truck rallies.
It is also available for parties and catering. For information, call 586-770-6743 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. To locate the Andiamo food truck, visit www.andiamoitalia.com and follow it on Twitter @AndiamoItalia.
