Two sessions will focus on allowing trucks to use city property
A year and a half after making changes to local law, food trucks in a portion of downtown Battle Creek seem to be rolling smoothly.
The types of food available will be fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, yogurt and other dairy products, breads and other baked goods.
Little Fleet attracted overflow crowds in the summer as tourists and locals alike chowed down on $9 Korean beef tacos with sambal slaw and sriracha mayo washed down with a Shrub Soda rhubarb-flavored pop. It's a street-level gourmet experience curated by Jonas as food-truck landlord.
Mac Shack and Kona Ice will serve concert goers starting at 6 p.m. Mac Shack is a Detroit-based food truck specializing in creative Mac ‘n Cheese & French Fries.
"For the menu I wanted to create something unique that people wouldn't have seen before," said Gauthier. "I also wanted to use in-season produce and get a lot of color so the food would look as good as it tastes."
The new Italian meatball and the chicken parmigiana sandwiches are made up of meat and toppings served on a breadstick bun.
The Andiamo Restaurant Group's big purple vehicle will open at 11 a.m. at the corner of Brush and Monroe, across from the Old Shillelagh and Fishbones, and will serve until 2 p.m. that day.
