First came word of Olive Garden’s new breadstick sandwiches.
Now the Italian restaurant chain has really done it with news of a food truck that will be touring the country to spread the word about its new Signature Breadstick Sandwiches. Complementary samples will be offered.
So what is a breadstick sandwich? Well, rather than simply having the breadsticks on the side of a meal, patrons can now use them as a bun for one of two sandwich options. Here’s what you can get:
The new Italian meatball and the chicken parmigiana sandwiches are made up of meat and toppings served on a breadstick bun. The sandwich, which starts at $6.99, will also come with garlic Parmesan fries and unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks to go along with the meal.
The food truck tour launched in New York City on June 1 and is expected to hit several other cities across the country. No Michigan stops appear to be scheduled, according to a map on BreadStickNation.com. But this tweet from Olive Garden seems to hint that a Detroit stop may be in the works:
Olive Garden, we beg you — visit Michigan. Spread the carb love.
