Orlando Food Trucks are the newest restaurant trend to hit Orlando. Orlando Sentinel, Daily City and a few other media outlets have been featuring them because they’ve been popping up in more popular areas like Colonial and Mills and downtown. And no doubt are they delicious but these are not new fads by any means, OBT and John Young areas south of 528 have some serious Spanish and Latin American food being cooked up over there and have been doing so for years. I’ve been numerous times and they are always pretty consistent but it’s good to see more of them in the Orlando area. Owning a full time restaurant is no joke and this is a great alternative to serve delicious food in a quick and simple way.
Local governments should encourage the trucks because they bring communities to life, said Chris Muller, dean of Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration and a former University of Central Florida restaurant professor. “The streets should be full of them,” he said.
