Raleigh Beer Week continues this weekend with Raleigh Brewing Company and The Flying Saucer hosting events. Things wrap up on Sunday with theTrophy Brewing Beer Dinner at Buku.
On Saturday morning, our friend Go Ask Mom is hosting a play date from 8 a.m. to noon at the Midtown Farmers Market at North Hills in Raleigh. The event will include visits from the Chick-Fil-A cow and the Carolina RailHawks’ mascot Swoop. Children can have fun in an open play area with colorful foam blocks and get free IDs courtesy of New York Life Insurance. The African-American Cultural Festival is happening this weekend along Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh. This annual event happens every Labor Day weekend and features music, food and an art market. There will also be fun for the children with educational items and more. It all kicks off on Saturday at 11 a.m. Admission is free.
Durham Central Park’s annual Labor Day Food Truck Rodeo is Sunday. These events are so much fun! More than 60 trucks will be on hand, as well as Durham’s own Fullsteam and Triangle breweries! Music, great food and drink – just bring a blanket, some lawn chairs and enjoy the day! Everything kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m.
And finally, some live music happening this weekend. The Allman Brothers Band and Steve Winwood will play Walnut Creek on Friday night. That same night DJ LA Riots will be lighting up Solas on Glenwood Avenue and Hank Williams Jr.plays Koka Booth.
On Sunday, the Carnival of Madness Tour featuring Shinedown and Papa Roach stops at the Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh.
