People started lining up before 8 a.m. for the food truck festival held at the County Administrative Center in Riverside Tuesday, June 25.

One of the trucks serving breakfast was The Buttermilk Truck. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, I chose to try the Hawaiian bread breakfast sliders.

The sliders included Portuguese sausage, Shoyu scrambled eggs and grilled onions for $7. For $1 you can add a rosemary, garlic hashbrown cake.

This turned out to be a great choice. There was a slight spice to the sausage, but it worked great with the sweetness of the Hawaiian bread. Shoyu is a soy sauce, and I’ve never had it with eggs before.
