The thing about food trucks is that they’re not always easy to find. The trendy, roaming restaurants change spots daily. Or they’re parked outside a business park or bar for just a few hours.
But at Sunday’s San Diego Food Truck Festival, 20 Southern California-based food trucks will be parked in one spot. You’ll be able to try banh mi or an ice cream sandwich or a gourmet hamburger or all of those things in one night.
Participating food trucks are: Bitchin Burgers, Ahn-Joo, Super Q, The Gathering Spot, Chomp Chomp Nation, Chunk-n-Chip Cookies, India On Wheels, Devilicious, MangiaMangia Mobile, Kona Ice, Sweet Treats, SD Street Eats, Asian Persuasion, Lime, Fry Smith, Kal-Bi-Q, Crepes Bonaparte, Pierogi Truck and Sea Birds.
Admission to the event is $10 and does not include food. VIP tickets are $20 and get you in the door from noon to 1 p.m., when the lines will be short and the food plentiful. Presale ticket holders are admitted between 1 and 3 p.m. And if you’re buying tickets at the door, arrive after 3 p.m.
The event goes until 7 p.m. at 2640 Cushing Road in Liberty Station. To purchase tickets or for additional information see sdfoodtruckfestival.com.
