At long last, outdoor festival season is here. Many will take to the streets this weekend for the Spring Manayunk StrEAT Festival on Sunday, April 12.
The truck also offers "infused curds." We tried the Farmer's Garden, which has sun-dried tomato, garlic, dill and chipotle peppers mixed into the cheese. Whichever variety you order, be sure to snag a side of homemade dipping sauce. Flavors include sriracha mayo and smoked ketchup.
The quick-serve restaurant across from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital called Chick-a-lic worked on its name; it's -a-licious (though the awnings and signs still bear that original name).
From Green to Shurs La., a total of 30 trucks lined up for three-quarters of a mile along Main Street, will participate, bringing their own unique flavors with specialties ranging from ice cream to Asian delicacies. The street will be open to traffic with trucks facing the sidewalk for pedestrian access. Visitors are encouraged to stroll along the street, taste the offerings from their favorite trucks, and sit and enjoy the food at picnic-style seating areas around the district.
Similar to last year, gourmet food trucks will line Main Street for the one-day event which includes a restaurant tour and plenty of shopping at various sidewalk sales and in-store promotions.
