Atlanta, GA: The Food Movement “Beefs Up” its Staff, Hires Cathy Pennington for Marketing & New Business Development

ATLANTA, Oct. 30, 2012 – The Food Movement, an Atlanta food truck, catering and team building company has expanded its staff with the addition of Cathy Pennington. Pennington is a veteran of the catering and meeting planning industries. At The Food Movement, her role will be to continue the company’s steady business expansion.

Started in March 2011, The Food Movement owns and operates two mobile food trucks in the Atlanta market: Hail Caesar and Pressed for Time. The company also manages seven other food trucks via its commissary kitchen. In addition, the company has a growing catering and events business and utilizes its 1800 square foot commercial kitchen for cooking lessons and culinary team building events.

“We’re thrilled with the progress of our business,” said Jack Gerblick, president. “We are now safely through the start up phase and adding an experienced practitioner like Cathy to our team will certainly expand our opportunities and footprint,” he added.

Cathy began her career with Sheraton Hotels and from there moved to the Hilton organization where she was Assistant Director of Catering at several properties. After leaving Hilton, she became Georgia/Alabama Area Manager for Appetizers And, a nationwide provider of hand-crafted hors d’oeuvres.  There she managed a network of distributors while working closely with chefs, caterers and purchasing managers to ensure the presence of the Appetizers brand hors d’oeuvres on catering menus.

Cathy has a strong knowledge of the Atlanta area event and hospitality market. She currently serves on the board of the local chapter of the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE) as well as the Georgia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (GaMPI).
