Buffalo, NY: Whole Hog Food Truck Turns Pink [video]

BUFFALO, NY – One of the local food trucks in Western New York received a new paint job Monday afternoon that suited it perfectly.

The Whole Hog Food Truck was painted a bright shade of pink. The color was chosen by Chef Kathleen Haggerty and is definitely appropriate.  After all, they specialize in pork sandwiches and sides.

Chef Haggerty says pink is power and the mobile food movement is gaining momentum. “No one’s going to go up to a truck and buy something when the food’s not very good. So you’ve got to consider that. You better be a little bit at the front edge of things, I think anyway. Both as a chef and as a business owner,” said the chef.

The food truck business in Buffalo has been a hot topic for some time now. Vendors are waiting for the city to make a decision about licensing.

The Common Council is expected to take up this issue again in late September.
