by David Tamarkin | Time Out Chicago
At this weekend’s Time Out Chicago Food Truck Social, all the usual food truck suspects will be in the house—Tamalespaceship, Flirty Cupcakes, The Southern Mac, Sweet Ride.
And then there’s a new truck that will make its debut at the social: Lillie’s Q Meat Mobile.
It’s a preview, really. The barbecue truck (a mobile outpost of Lillie’s Q, obviously) hopes to launch around September 5th. When it does, it will serve a small, streamlined menu consisting of sandwiches and sides. The menu will look something like this:
– Pulled pork sandwich w/choice of sauce and side – $10
– Pulled chicken sandwich w/choice of sauce and side – $10
The sides offered will be coleslaw and baked beans; the sauces are Smoky, Hot Smoky, Carolina, Carolina Gold and Ivory.
At the TOC event, the truck will serve sample sizes of the sandwiches. Sides are still TBD. As for the exact date the Meat Mobile will launch, and what its route will be, that’s all TBD, too. Paying attention to the truck’s twitter feed—@LQMeatMobile—should result in eventual answers.
