Have dinner plans for May 11? Cancel them.

Or better yet, bring your party on over to the parking lot of the Fullerton Public Library, from 5 to 8 p.m., where the next installment of Gustavo Arellano’s “Awesome Lecture Series!” is taking place.

The inaugural “(Mini) Lonchera Clustertruck” will feature discussions about Latino food, coupled with visits by four gourmet food trucks that specialize in Spanish, Mexican, Argentine and Latin/Asian fusion dishes.

Inside the library, Arellano will give a short presentation on the history of Latino food in Orange County.

In addition, some of his students from Cal State Fullerton will present the oral histories they collected this semester from owners of local Latino restaurants.

Outside the library, Barcelona on the Go, Piaggio Gourmet on Wheels, Dos Chinos Food and Alebrije’s Grill food trucks will sell delicacies, ranging from grilled cactus to short rib marinated in Mexican/Korean barbecue sauce and sour cream.

A paletero will also be on hand selling Mexican popsicles.

Food sales start at 5 p.m.; the presentations start at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is free; a portion of food sales will go to the library.
