There is a lot of thought that goes into the name of a business. The challenge is to pick the perfect name that represents the company, the brand, and what people can expect when they visit. For that reason, there wasn’t any confusion on what to get after I pulled up to Baby’s Badass Burgers food truck.

From downtown to Southside, seven days a week, you can find Baby’s hot pink food truck serving burgers to hundreds of hungry customers. The menu at Baby’s is simple: nine different burgers and three sides. Baby’s sets themselves apart from the rest with their fun take on a traditional hamburger. The “Hot Mama” burger is piled high with cream cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers and Baby’s spicy cheese sauce. “The Good Wife” has smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, bacon, Baby’s special spicy sauce, then topped with a fried egg over easy. For the big eaters out there, try “The Bombshell”. This is a ½ pound burger sandwiched between two bacon grilled cheese melts, topped with grilled onions and served with a side of Baby’s special sauce. Talk about a burger! If you’re not into eating beef, Baby’s also offers a turkey and veggie burger.

The best compliment to a burger is of course, fries. For only $2, you can get the “Pig Tails”, better known at curly fries. For $4 more, top the fries with Baby’s 10-Spice Chili and Cheese. There are also sweet potato fries or assorted chips.

After weighing my options for a few minutes, I went with the “She’s Smokin!” burger: a half-pound ground Angus burger with smoked cheddar, bbq sauce, crispy onions, and bacon, with my personal touch, I added some avocado. I’m going to be honest: it’s the best burger I have had in Jacksonville. The meat is juicy, the toppings are fresh, and the crunch of the crispy onions takes this burger to another level. Don’t get me wrong, it is an expensive burger at $10, but it was well worth it.

For Jacksonville, an event only needs two things to be successful: craft beer and food trucks. Luckily, we have some of the best in both categories. And Baby’s isn’t just exclusive to Jacksonville, they have burger trucks cruising around California and Nevada, with plans to go nationwide. Along with many happy customers, I’m glad they call Jacksonville one of their homes. To find out where the pink truck is parked at today, visitwww.babysbadassburgers.com.
