California’s food trucks have become such a staple, they’re even at workplace parking lots, but they’ve been bogged down by a parking limit.
But new ordinance would stop you from having to chase down your lunch.
Under the proposal, food trucks would no longer be required to move every 30 minutes, meaning the current limit for parking in one spot would be lifted.
Instead, they could stay as long as the posted parking limit allows.
But there are a few catches, the trucks still must stay at least 50 feet from intersections, restaurant outdoor seating areas and at least 400 feet from another food truck.
Before the ordinance goes before the full Sacramento City Council, city staffers are working on nighttime restrictions on food trucks in residential areas to protect neighborhoods.
