The 30-foot-long Big Blue food truck, the product of the University at Buffalo's affiliated Campus Dining and Shops, will begin service at noon before the Bulls' men's football game against Duquesne, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in UB Stadium.
Gourmet is the name of the game in two food trucks that have been popping up at Stark County sites and events in recent months. Both the Stone Pelican Rolling Cafe and Denostas Wood Fired Grille are owned by professionally trained chefs, and their menus feature diverse dishes, from lamb chops to vegan wraps.
Fukunaga picked out three menu items: the No. 1 (an original Fuku burger with the Japanese cuisine-inspired Fuku sauce), the No. 2 (a Fuku patty with a fried egg and crispy onion strings on top), and the No. 6 (a hand-breaded, Panko-crusted Japanese chicken sandwich with Wasabi mayo).
To become The Master Chef, a title not many first time players will be able to achieve right off the bat. To finish first, players have to defeat food truck foes in a timed match that ranks them by their ability to pick up corresponding foods, before their gas tank runs out.
Food truck fanatics: another mobile kitchen has entered the game, this time from Circa 1886 and Peninsula Grill alum Larry White.
The Durham Bulls will host the first ever DBAP Food Truck Fest as well as two nights of fireworks and an appearance from Brobee of Yo Gabba Gabba! in the upcoming five-game homestand starting July 10 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
