The truck serves different menus, depending on the venue. At Lieb Cellars and Castello di Borghese vineyards, for example, the selections are based on the modern, fish-centric menu at Noah’s restaurant.
One of the new stands at Madison Square Eats this time is Delaney Barbecue: Tacotown. Delaney Barbecue exploded on the NYC dining scene last year, with a critically-acclaimed restaurant in Williamsburg, and later a stand on the High Line.
The El Paso Truck is a spinoff of El Paso Restaurante, located at 1643 Lexington Ave (103rd St). The menu at the truck is significantly smaller than the restaurant, with just tacos and some drinks – but what they do with the tacos is excellent!
Some rigs will bring out the traditional contraption required for the preparation of a certain iconic taco. We’ll say this, the machine isn’t as rare as some think. A cadre of the spinning beauts dot Oak Cliff’s major thoroughfares weekend nights.
I have seen La Taqueria food truck in Kits over lunch almost everyday this week. The truck has a devoted following and during peak hours always there’s always a line-up.
Items like a Nutella, peanut butter, and bacon grilled sandwich, a crepe stuffed with chorizo, goat cheese or spinach, and a crispy pork belly taco served with apple slaw have become available around the city.
The humble taco is also what turned chefs Jason Hoffman and Justin Close, a pair of classically trained cooks looking to do their own thing, into the Taco Guys.
