Mobile Kitchen Solutions (MobileKitchenSolutions.com), a division of Rental Solutions, announced today their assistance in providing a 28-foot kitchen trailer and other equipment to help feed disaster relief workers aiding in the oil spill clean-up efforts in Billings, Montana.

On Friday, July 1, an Exxon Mobil pipeline in the riverbed of the pristine Yellowstone River ruptured, spilling an estimated 750 – 1,000 barrels, or 42,000 gallons of oil. The river runs past about 6,500 homes and threatens the state’s $400-million trout industry, making swift clean-up efforts imperative.

Mobile Kitchen Solutions’ vice president, Tom Brown, Jr., received the call to assist and sent his disaster relief team to work immediately. “When we got the call, our disaster relief team quickly went to work mobilizing a kitchen trailer, a climate-controlled tented kitchen and other necessary equipment for the workers cleaning the spill,” stated Brown. “Having gone through many disaster relief projects over the years, we are ready at a moment’s notice, and are happy to do our part to help.”

The equipment provided will feed response workers, and include portable AC units, generators, portable restrooms, kitchen tents, kitchen equipment and a kitchen trailer. A tented climate controlled kitchen for food preparation includes walk-in coolers, power generation, double stack ovens, hot boxes, and tilt skillets. Additionally, a 28-foot kitchen trailer with a 12′ Ansul suppression hood, 2 HVAC rooftop units, 3 tables, a 3-basin sink with water heater, a double stack oven, a 36” flattop 6-burner grill with oven, 2 fryers, a 2-door refrigerator and a 2-door freezer is at the site. Power generation and distribution, AC units and portable restrooms make the set-up complete and give the workers what they need to stay on-site and finish their efforts as quickly as possible.

Mobile Kitchen Solutions’ assistance in the Montana spill is their second such oil spill disaster relief effort in the past 15 months. During the BP oil spill they also provided a tented kitchen to aid relief workers. It is unclear how long the current oil spill relief efforts will last, however Mobile Kitchen Solutions expects to be on-site for at least one month to assist.
