Can Orange County’s latest food truck seduce local foodies with its sex-centric menu of burgers?

Register intern Hannah Fry gives us the lowdown on Sexy Burger, which began hawking its Naked, Cougar and Hot Mama burgers earlier this month.

If you’ve eaten from the truck, let us know if you’re dazzled by these ‘sexy’ burgers.

Name: Sexy Burger

Launched: The Irvine-based food truck got its start on Sept. 21 during a gathering at Troy High School in Fullerton.

Truck Founders: Reggie Dejesus, a recent UCI graduate, and his girlfriend Ione Martinez operate the Sexy Burger truck. The couple decided to open up a food truck after graduation despite their lack of restaurant experience.

“I saw that all this food truck stuff was blowing up, so I thought it was a great opportunity,” Dejesus said.

They decided on the name Sexy Burger because they feel it is an adequate representation of their style.

“We work really hard and we really care about the food we serve,” Dejesus said. “We want customers to enjoy everything that we make. I think that mentality is just sexy.”

Type of Food: The truck specializes in burgers. They serve everything from bacon burgers to pastrami burgers. All of their burgers come with a side of kettle-cooked chips.

Most Requested Dish: The Sexy Burger, which is 1/3 pound Angus beef, fried cheddar cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and their secret burger sauce.

Dejesus credits the fried cheddar cheese with the success of the burger.

“People like cheese, so I guess when you fry it they dig it even more,” Dejesus said.

Price Range: Burgers range from $5.50 to $10.

Where to Find: Sexy Burger has yet to designate any specific stops, but can be located on Facebook or Twitter.
